For Maybe By Being an A Student, Baby

Consort and kid were working on Stats last night; I decided to participate. "What's with the E?" I asked. "What E?" "The fancy capital E with the extra bits." I am now to understand that 1) That fancy E is summation, 2) I am not to touch the white board and 3) I am encouraged to find other, simpler things to do.

I had to Google summation so I think I'm with you. The wikipedia page confused me all over again. I think it may be why I failed geometry.

I took a class in finance a few months ago that taught the following:

1. The world runs on algebra;

2. Finance is algebra with dollar signs;

3. Finance includes statistics;

4. Statistics for finance is algebra with dollar signs in Greek.

Oh, and ...

5. Net present value.

All the rest was commentary.

Oh, my. I'm with you. I had to look up summation, too, and my eyes crossed. My brain just shuts down.
